Small Groups

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11

Small group participation can help a big church feel smaller. However long you have been at LaGrave- gathering with a small group of people gives you an opportunity to meet new people and often form new friendships.

Share a Meal

A Supper Group or Lunch Group meets 5-6 times throughout the year to share a meal in someone’s home. The goal is simple but significant- to begin new connections or deepen existing ones between members of our congregation. Group members work out hosting and food plans together. (Please join a group even if you are unable to host. There are many who are willing to host in their homes.) Fellowship shared around a table- both joys and sorrows- draws us to become friends and family!

Watch Some Movies

Join with a group in a home or at the theater to watch a movie, discuss and fellowship together. You plan what to watch, and what favorite movie snacks and beverages to share. Group members work out hosting, movie plans, and food/snacks together.

Join Our Book Study

Meet at 10:00 am (between church services) in a small group setting to discuss a section of Cornelius Plantinga’s book, ‘Under the Wings of God’. As the subtitle suggests, Plantinga’s book offers twenty Biblical reflections that are ideal for small group discussion. Each chapter helps us wrestle with a Biblical passage while also equipping us with timeless insights into the ups and downs of a life lived in the presence of God.
