Imaginations

Mark your calendars and take out those art supplies! Imaginations: A LaGrave Festival of the Arts is a vibrant showcase of original artworks spanning various mediums. From oils to watercolors, sculptures to textiles, this exhibition invites artists of all ages from LaGrave to share their gifts from God.

Dates and Events

The exhibit will be in the Parlor Gallery and continue in the lower level beginning Sunday, September 22 through Sunday, October 20.

Artists’ reception: A special duo-recital presented by Dr. Larry Visser and Dr. Rob Hobgood on Friday, September 27 at 7:30 PM, the exhibit will be available for viewing after the duo-recital.

  • How do I Enter Artwork?

  • What types of art can be entered?
    Oils. Acrylics, watercolors, drawings, pastels, crayon, colored pencil, sculpture, woodworking, ceramics, fiber, textiles, collage/montage, photography or other visual fine art, all are eligible.
  • What is the deadline for entries?
    Sunday, September 8, or 15, or not later than Wednesday, September 18, from 4 to 7 PM. The exhibit opens Sunday, September 22, and will be available for viewing on Sundays before, and after each service in the Parlor Gallery and Lower Level, and Wednesdays, 6 to 8 PM if church is open.
  • What is the entry procedure for artwork?
    Bring your completed forms & artwork to a receiving table in the narthex on Sunday. September 8 or 15, after the Services or on Wednesday, September 18 between 4 and 7 PM. To make special arrangements call/text David M. Versluis at 712.441.9909 or email: versluis.dordt.edu@gmail.com.
  • How to do I collect my artwork after the festival?

  • Can I sell my artwork at the festival?
    Works may be sold. LaGrave CRC is not participating in any sale. Interested persons may contact the individual artists. All works that are not for sale must be clearly marked “Not For Sale”.
  • Does my work need to be for sale to be in the festival?
    No, your artwork doesn’t have to be available for purchase to be in the festival. All works that are not for sale must be clearly marked “Not For Sale.” If you would like to sell your artwork you may but LaGrave CRC is not participating in any sale. Interested persons may contact the individual artists.
