Visitor's Guide
Service Times: LaGrave has two identical morning worship services at 8:45 and 11 a.m. The Chancel Choir alternates between the early and later morning worship. Soloists and ensembles alternate with the Choir. LaGrave also has an evening service at 6 p.m. You might want to consider arriving ten or more minutes before the scheduled service times so that you can prepare for worship while listening to the organ preludes played by our Minister of Music. During the summer months we have one morning worship service at 10 a.m.
Parking: Free parking is available in the lot on LaGrave Avenue across from the church. Another parking lot is accessible from Cherry Street and Sheldon Avenue. Street parking is available on LaGrave and Sheldon Avenues.
What to Expect: If you are visiting LaGrave for the first time, you will be warmly greeted at the door. Our greeters can help you find your way. You can also visit the Welcome Center in the entrance area, where you can get a Welcome Packet with plenty of information about LaGrave. The Welcome Center staff can also answer any questions you may have.
Wondering What to Wear: Some of the men at LaGrave prefer suits and ties while others prefer slacks and sport shirts. Some of the women at LaGrave prefer dresses while others prefer slacks and blouses. We welcome people for who they are, not what they wear.
Nurseries: Children are welcomed into the infant nurseries as soon as parents are comfortable leaving them. We have very capable and loving volunteers who care for children during every service. Our facilities are up to date, safe, and welcoming. We have a large infant nursery, a crib room, and a quiet room to be used to calm an upset child or feed a hungry baby. Infants through children that have begun to walk well are welcomed each Sunday!
The toddler nursery is full of activities for active toddlers. Once children are walking well, they are invited to join the toddler nursery. The toddler nursery also has wonderful caring volunteers at each service.
Children’s Worship: During the morning worship services children from kindergarten through the 2nd grade are invited to the front of the sanctuary to hear a “children’s moment” from one of the pastors. Afterwards, the children are excused to attend Children’s Worship.
For People with Disablities: We have a number of handicapped parking spaces in the lot to the west of the church. Our premises are wheelchair accessible, except for our north entrance. We have an elevator for easy access to the upper and lower floors of our building. Our sanctuary also has a loop system for hearing aid users. In addition, large print bulletins, Bibles and Psalter Hymnals are available, as is a Braille Psalter Hymnal.
